Calvin and Coyle Woodland Park, Homer: Many berry plants flowering. Trailing raspberry, nagoonberry, cloudberry, watermelon berry, along with roses and many other wildflowers. Red currants and trailing black currants, and elderberry have small/medium green berries and a few flowers still here and there. Beach peas blooming and sea chickweed vining all over the peninsula beaches, very pretty.
June 2
Woods, Wasilla: Roses have been blooming around the Valley. Watermelon berries and high and lowbush cranberries are all flowering. Most red currants have small green berries forming, some are still flowering. Raspberry flowers are generally buds. Spruce tips are super good this year so we’ve been eating a lot.

Swamp land, Big Lake: Currant flowers have been going absolutely crazy all over the Valley. I’ve seen many red currant and skunk currant flowers particularly. Red elderberry plants have purplish green heads getting ready to flower. Blueberries flowering. Timberberry flowering. Bog cranberry flowering.

Bodenburg Butte, Butte: Red currants are flowering.

Woods, Wasilla: Picked good highbush cranberries. Found a patch of quite a few red currants still very nice, not squished.
August 28
Talkeetna Lakes, Talkeetna: Picked lots of very nice forest blueberries, at the perfect ripeness level. Also picked a couple bog blueberries here and there. The highbush cranberries were good, and actually there were quite a few nice red currants too.
August 19
Alcantra, Wasilla: Highbush cranberry in these woods and all over the Valley are turning clear, ripe enough to pick, though later is better. Rosehips are pretty good everywhere. Some old red currants, watermelon berry, etc. are still available.

Woods, Wasilla: Super good watermelon berries and raspberries on various powerline trails. Some red currants still remaining here and there.

Palmer Hay Flats State Game Refuge, Wasilla: Lots of perfect nagoonberries! Also ripe black currants and a few good red currants still. Highbush cranberry early red.
